About Emily

I loved learning Spanish during sixth form. It's super hard to find support being an MFL student when it comes to essay writing and the IRP. So, I want to help both A-Level and GCSE students! - Teaching all specs of GCSEs - Teaching El Laberinto Del Fauno and La Casa De Bernarda Alba - Can also do any A-Level spec in terms of content, but bear in mind I only did those two Spanish works!

I can help with:

Building vocabulary and grammar knowledge from foundation to higher level

Mastering the three tenses (past, present, future) and using them accurately in writing and speaking

Perfecting your writing — from structured paragraph building to full essay responses with rich vocabulary and idioms

Practising speaking with fluency and spontaneity (including mock speaking exams)

Understanding reading and listening texts efficiently, with strategies for answering tricky exam questions

Targeted revision and exam technique for AQA/Edexcel boards

About the lesson

I plan each lesson according to the ability and learning style of each individual student. Whether you're aiming for a pass or pushing for a grade 8 or 9, I tailor my approach to ensure you're supported and challenged appropriately. I cover all aspects of the GCSE Spanish specification — including listening, reading, writing, speaking, and grammar — in depth. I also assign homework if needed to reinforce key skills between lessons.

I achieved an A* in A-Level Spanish last year as a non-native speaker, so I understand exactly what it takes to master the language from scratch and how to make rapid progress. I’m very familiar with the current specification and know what examiners are looking for. I have a bank of high-grade model essays, speaking answers, and vocabulary lists that I can share to help you improve your technique.
