About Kamran

Hi, I’m Kamran or Kam for short! I am a 17 year old A-Level student currently studying Mathematics, Computer Science, and Music Technology, with predicted grades of ABB.

For my A levels I have chosen quite a unique combination of Computer Science, Mathematics and Music Technology. I find Computer Science and Mathematics keep my analytical and logical problem-solving skills incredibly sharp, while Music Technology has trained me to be highly practical, creative and to think outside the box.

Having recently sat GCSEs myself, achieving top grades in both Maths and Computer Science I know the current syllabus and exam formats inside out. I am completely familiar with how the questions are structured, what the examiners are looking for, and where students typically lose marks.

Because I’ve been in the exact same shoes as my students just a year or two ago, I know what study techniques actually work and which ones are a waste of time. I don't like to teach like a rigid classroom teacher; instead, I use my recent experience to offer a fresh, peer-to-peer perspective that makes complex concepts understandable and stress-free. My goal is to pass on the exact strategies I used to succeed so my students can reach their full potential.

About the lesson

Learning isn’t a one size fits all, every student learns and will understand differently. For all of my students I will tailor my lessons to suit their pace, strength and goals. I am also incredibly flexible if a student wants to practice a topic they can’t quite get in school or a question that they have found while revising I am more than happy to help.

Here is more what to expect:
• Diagnostics Assessments: I give all of my student’s quizzes to pinpoint week topics that they may need help on. This will ensure that we are focusing on the week topics and finding any hidden gaps.
• Exam Questions: I focus heavilyon exam questions. This is because examiners will not be asking you to recite notes in the exam they want the answer in their specific format.
• Revision/ Consolidation: At the start of every lesson we will go back to the previously lesson to make sure that learnt skills are embedded into memory.
• Homework (Optional): I know students aren’t fond of homework but if asked I will be more than happy to put together additional work for students to do between lessons to keep momentum going.

Overall, I live to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students are comfortable to get things work, and do the best they can in their exams.
