About Gia

Hii! My name is Gia Chin and I am an A level student in the UK looking to help and guide younger students to allow them to apply themselves and achieve the best possible grades in their GCSEs. In my GCSEs I achieved 1 grade 6 (B), 4 grade 7s (A), 6 grade 8s (A*) and 1 grade 9 (A**) and I aim to help several young students achieve the same or even better than me to open up as many doors for them as possible when it comes to sixth forms and colleges. My overall goal when tutoring is to develop both my communication and teaching skills while being a part of students' journeys' through high school, guiding them along the right pathway to success.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach involves focused one-hour sessions tailored to each student’s needs. I encourage students to choose topics they want to improve on and recommend helpful videos and websites to strengthen understanding outside lessons, ensuring flexible, engaging, and effective learning. I would also like to mostly focus on application of knowledge with exam questions and practice essays to allow the students to familiarise themselves with the exam style in GCSE more. Overall, I am willing to involve myself into the student's journey through high school by guiding them along the right path to achieve top grades and success in their GCSEs. My qualifications/experience: I have mentored younger years in classrooms at my school, giving them tips, helping them when they are unable to answer a question and most importantly allowing them to understand the questions and build on their learning. I have helped many family members with their studies by teaching them certain concepts they are struggling with that I have expertise in which has allowed them to raise their grade higher. I am now studying the A levels Biology, Psychology and Maths along with an EPQ (extended project qualification) in Art where I will be building a portfolio. As well as this, my current target grades for these subjects are AAA. My GCSE qualifications: English Literature - Grade 9 English Language - Grade 8 Mathematics - Grade 8 Further Mathematics - Grade 6 Biology - Grade 7 Chemistry - Grade 7 Physics - Grade 8 Art - Grade 8 History - Grade 8 Religious Studies - Grade 8 French - Grade 7 In summary 1 B, 4 As and 7 A*s, the highest grade being English Literature.
