About Alexander
I graduated from Thomas Aquinas College with a double major in philosophy and theology, and a minor in mathematics. It was at TAC that I first experienced the grandeur of the sciences practiced with all their rigor and discipline. My time at college has taught me to think critically and to communicate difficult concepts clearly. Since my time at college, I have used these tools in my career as a teacher at Saint Therese Classical Academy. Already having a mastery of the subjects I now teach, I now give others the profound understanding and appreciation of the sciences I love so well.

While maintaining that discipline and heavy memorization are prerequisites to true understanding, my pedagogy focus on a true mastery of the material before all else. I want my students to understand not just what they are learning, but why it is true. Additionally, I try to bring wonder and beauty into every lesson so that it is engaging, interesting, and enlightening for every student.

I have had the great opportunity to have learned my Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus along with some seminar based Calculus classes in my 11th and 12th grade years with Mr. Temple and they were all classes that I was genuinely excited for due to being able to understand what I was being taught and the joyful atmosphere that came with each class. What I appreciate most about Mr. Temple is the clarity with which he teaches and him showing the logic behind the various formulas and the math course itself which helps one realize and discover the order in math and how the various formulas are able to work together as tools. The result of this is being able to see the big picture in math, the structure and the systematic order in the various math courses. As everything that he taught me in class was cumulative knowledge, being able to connect or use the various formulas together was a lot more clearer and easier to do. I particularly enjoyed the seminar based Calculus as they helped enhance my critical thinking, inquiry, and problem solving skills. These seminars which have questions as a pivotal tool to get the students to think critically and understand the order behind the mathematical realities are what help the student to start thinking in an organized fashion and articulate those thoughts in an orderly fashion. As the students are able to answer the questions directed to them, the students will be able to retain and explain what they just learned because they themselves were able to explain how and why the math formula that they just learned works. Mr. Temple is a super professor not only because of his intelligence but because of his character, his love for the truth, and his genuine desire that you understand the material and see the beauty in math. Without Mr. Temple's guidance I don't think I would have ever enjoyed math or seen the beauty in it but thanks to him I now see the orderly structure in math and appreciate the beauty behind it. Thanks to Mr. Temple I have also grown confident in knowing that I can understand, explain, and put together the material that I am learning. Thanks to very thought provoking questions that Mr. Temple asked me and my fellow peers, I was able to learn to articulate my thoughts and communicate them clearly and precisely. I would definitely recommend Mr. Temple as a math tutor as you will develop a love for math, learning, thinking, and questioning. Alongside your acquisition of these goods, you will do so alongside a grand tutor.
I'm a coworker of Alex. I've been really impressed with his deep understanding of mathematics. He really understands the *why* of math and communicates this to his students. He knows how to work well with students and has remarkable patience.
I was Alexander’s observation supervisor at a small private school. He was the best mathematics teacher. His lesson plans were always thorough. His students were always engaged. He knew his material. I appreciated the time and effort he took in preparing for class.
I know Mr. Temple through our church. He is a professional math teacher with a minor degree and is adept at mathematics. He has tutored me for one year, the 2025-2026 school year, and my math grade went from an F to a B-. I have a lot of trouble with the concepts behind math and Mr. Temple is very good at explaining not only the how, but the why in math. I have learned to love math in itself, to practice it for the sake of its beauty, and to appreciate it as theological. I am incredibly grateful not only for my grade being raised but for my mentality towards math to be altered. I have never had a better tutor, and as far as I can tell all of the other students he has taught have only come away not only better students better people.
