As a BSED-Mathematics graduate with real classroom experience teaching high school students, I focus on making math accessible, logical, and far less intimidating.
Here is how I structure my tutoring approach:
Teaching Method & Techniques: I use an interactive, step-by-step problem-solving approach. Rather than relying on simple memorization, I emphasize understanding core concepts and the "why" behind formulas. I adapt my pace to each student's learning style, using visual representations and practical examples to break down complex algebraic and geometric concepts.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-up (5–10 mins): Quick review of previous concepts to build immediate confidence.
Core Concept (15–20 mins): Guided explanation of the new topic with worked examples.
Guided Practice (20 mins): We solve problems together, gradually shifting to independent student effort with real-time feedback.
Wrap-up & Q&A (5–10 mins): Brief recap of key takeaways and addressing any lingering questions.
What Sets Me Apart: My background as a certified Secondary Education major gives me strong pedagogical skills and proven strategies for breaking down difficult topics. Having taught in actual high school classrooms, I know where students commonly get stuck and how to fix foundational gaps quickly.
Target Audience: My lessons are tailored for junior high and senior high school students (grades 7–12), college students needing refresher courses in basic to intermediate mathematics, or anyone preparing for school exams and entrance assessments.
