Licensed math teacher and PhD student tutors middle and high school level math

Anna was my math and science tutor for the ACT, and she did a great job helping me boost my score. In addition, I had Anna as my supplementary math tutor for 3 years in High School, and being someone that has a hard time with math, she helped me get the one -on- one attention that I needed. Without Anna, I'm not sure how I would have gotten through High School math. Besides being a great teacher and being super smart, Anna is extremely kind and will go out of her way to accommodate different needs. I highly recommend Anna as a tutor and a teacher.

I worked with Anna for three years during high school. I met Anna towards the end of second semester my sophomore year of high school. I was taking Advanced Algebra and had fallen very, very far behind. I had not done very well first semester in Advanced Algebra, but second semester was even worse. I began losing confidence and believing I was bad at math. When Anna began tutoring me that all turned around. Anna not only helped me understand the material I was learning so much better but she also helped me gain my confidence back too. We would sit at my kitchen table for hours as Anna walked me through each and every math problem I had. She never once became impatient when I couldn't figure out a problem or when she had to walk me through a problem multiple times before I understood how to do it. Anna is one of the most brilliant people I have ever met, but never once did I ever feel stupid or embarrassed for making a silly calculation error or when I asked for the fourth time to explain a problem again. After that second semester of Algebra my confidence continued to grow. With Anna's help I went from receiving a C- second semester in Advanced Algebra (unfortunately I met Anna too late into the semester for my grade to recover very much before the end of the school year) to receiving an A my last semester of high school in Pre-Calculus. Thanks to Anna I have a lot more confidence with math and have become better at breaking down problems so they aren't as overwhelming. Because of Anna I am now taking a college level math class at the University of Minnesota and am not at all concerned about if I am ready to take it on, because I know I am. You really could not find a better tutor than Anna. She is the best!!
