About Kristen
My role as a public school teacher is what keeps me going! I have worked in the inner city school setting for over 10 years now and each year has left a lasting impression on me. My experiences outside of the classroom include working in the nannying, food, beauty, and service industries. My love for children, teaching and learning, and creativity is what has led me to pursue tutoring.

My teaching philosophy is that we learn best by doing! My first session will be free as it will include a diagnostic of your child's (or children's) current skills. I will also survey each child to get to know them a little better, their interests, hobbies, learning styles, etc. My expectation for each session is to follow a set of rules, routines, and procedures so that students can develop a standard of learning while working with me. My interests include making learning fun and engaging by including hands-on activities and games! I specialize in working with children from Kindergarten up until 5th grade.
