About Karen
I have been Teaching and Tutoring since 1983. Primarily, by focus has been on Music, Music Theory & Piano Practice, Performance & Practical Application, but I have also tutored basic Reading, Writing, Maths and Study Skills to many during that time. I have had hundreds of successful students over the years. I am a life long learner and a heavy reader on almost any subject.

I believe in a solid foundation, so we begin at the beginning and work our way up, filling in any gaps along the way. I have found this to be the most effective way, in fact I often don't need to teach at the students grade level, because once we fill in the missing basics the students say "so that's what they were talking about"! I use audio, visual and kinetic teaching methods as needed. I love working with any age, 5 and up, or stage and have extensive experience in working with many types of disabilities.
