I believe in tailoring my approach to the individual learner’s needs and goals. A top down/singular approach doesn’t best support helping people achieve their goals. Everyone has their own story, history, background and path, and it’s important to help people find the way to their goals that they can be comfortable with. If a student doesn’t believe in something they won’t buy into its merits, and buy-in is key to motivation.
