About Stuart
I have been in the language and literature field for about 5 decades, and am still doing private instruction and tutoring. I have been a teacher, college prof, author of language texts and a 3 level ESL idiom series, language school director, and published poet. I am a perfectionist when it comes to language.
I am presently teaching languages and do not use a text; I write ALL the instructional material. I emphasize oral skills; after all, the first thing a child does is to SPEAK; shouldn't language learners do the same? Teaching grammar is a lazy and ineffective way to expect people to learn a language.

I have tutored many students over the years , and they have had much success on a one-on-one teaching/learning situation. I work hard to develop material that is on track with their needs. I stress the importance of communication, putting students at ease, as informing them that making errors in language is inevitable, but not a detriment to the process of second (or more) language learning.
I have had experience tutoring people from all walks of life, developing material that meets their needs; eg. language related to their profession, academic needs, etc.
