I have had over 20 years' experience in and outside school as an Early Years Educator helping children develop confidence with literacy and phonics. These are essential skills that will take a child through the rest of their education; as a result, it is essential that they have the right support to develop a reading and writing style that works for them. To make sure that every child I teach has this opportunity, all my lessons are tailored to the specific needs of the child. I create and use my own resources and strategies based on my training, experience and knowledge of the children in my care. I am trained in Read Write Inc., used widely across schools, and have a strong knowledge of other learning programmes used by schools across London. I also provide Speech and Language support. I am trained in Makaton and Colourful Semantics which I use to support the development of speech and the formation of comprehensible sentences. I have worked in close contact with Speech and Language Therapists and delivered programs and Education Plans created to support the identified needs of individual children. The typical length of a lesson is from 30 mins - 1.5 hrs - dependent on a child's age, or the above mentioned factors. My aim is to supplement their education, as opposed to implement additional methods that can overwhelm the child. Essentially, my lessons also include a therapeutic element through the use of toys and sensory equipment such as playdough, slime, or kinetic sand. In addition to supporting a child’s academic progress, I work on building their confidence, self-belief and independence. I am also able to direct parents and families to healthcare professionals where I believe a child may need more targeted support. I am experienced in working with children with ADHD and autism. I work principally with children aged 3-6 years. For those who are struggling significantly, I can work with children up to 9 on a case by case basis.
I am flexible and willing to negotiate days and times. I am a full-time tutor available all year round - mornings, afternoons and evenings.

Perfect! Michelle has been teaching my six-year-old nephew for the past year, and the progress he’s made has been excellent. She supports him with phonics, reading, writing, and maths, and has a great way of making everything feel fun and engaging rather than like a chore.
What really stands out is how clearly she explains things—she breaks concepts down in a way that’s easy for him to understand, which has really helped build his confidence. He genuinely enjoys his lessons, which says a lot at that age.
She’s patient, reliable, and clearly experienced with young children. I’d highly recommend Michelle to anyone looking for a tutor who can make learning both effective and enjoyable.View more reviews

Michelle has been helping my daughter with phonics for nearly a year, and we couldn’t be happier with her. She is incredibly gifted at engaging with very young children and has a natural ability to make lessons fun, enjoyable and effective.
My daughter has made great progress in her phonics. She genuinely loves her lessons and always looks forward to seeing her. Highly recommended!I engaged Michelle last year to teach my then 5-year-old grandson who was lagging behind in his school. Ever since Michelle started to teach him, he has improved a lot with phonics and can read and write. I am happy with her hilarious method of teaching kids, which prompts my grandson to understand and adapt to things easily. I am happy to recommend her to anyone looking for a good teacher.
I would like to say thank you so much, Michelle. Amazing teacher, clear, patient, and supportive. She is a very helpful teacher, explains very well, and cares about students.

She’s patient, reliable, and clearly experienced with young children. I’d highly recommend Michelle to anyone looking for a tutor who can make learning both effective and enjoyable.Had the pleasure of dealing with Michelle, who is a tutor for my 6-year-old son. The difference Michelle has made to my son is like night and day. She has made education fun and enjoyable. I recommend Michelle.
Michelle tutored my 9 year old son, who has special needs, during June and July and made such a positive difference. She helped him regain confidence and actually enjoy learning again. Her creative approach — like teaching about squirrels, then taking him to see them in the park and turning it into writing and art — really engaged him. She was patient, caring, and able to help him focus for longer than he ever had before. I’m so grateful for the impact she had and would happily recommend her.
Michelle tutored our 5 year old son in reading / writing / concentration skills for 6 months. The results were very impressive as he made great progress in all these areas starting from a very low baseline. Michelle is an incredibly kind and professional working closely with our son to better understand his learning needs and win his trust. She sent us detailed feedback on his progress. I feel that of all the people who have worked with our son Michelle cared the most for him and he certainly learnt much more with her than he did at school. Overall Michelle is a kind and caring professional who is very able to work with young children experiencing learning difficulties and takes her responsibilities very seriously. I would highly recommend her.
Michelle is an amazing tutor for little kids. She is quite experienced capturing the attention of a 3 years old and coming up with activities that promotes his learning. While her primary focus was to teach reading for our son, not only she was successful with it, she took her time and every opportunity to work on his other skills such as memory, speaking and even motor skills. Our son really got engaged and enjoyed her time with her. Despite his age (3) he can read short words quite well and has a good basis for reading now
I would strongly recommend herMichelle has been great for our daughter instilling better focus and concentration and improving her reading comprehension and maths results within a short space of time. Firm but kind!
Michelle is a fantastic tutor! Her high energy, enthusiasm and commitment was evident throughout the time she worked with my son, who is autistic. She used a range of techniques and resources that made her lessons fun. I was very impressed with the way in which she engaged with my son and the results she produced. I highly recommend her.Michelle is polite and friendly. She is observant and proactive, always eager to help and support others in any way she can. Michelle is trustworthy and commited to all she undertakes. I highghly recommend her.
I highly recommend Michelle as a tutor for Early Years education.
I worked with Michelle in a professional capacity for several years.
Michelle expertly supported children to develop their phonics, reading, writing and numeracy skills.
She has excellent experience in supporting small groups and giving one to one support to help children develop their Speech and Language Skills.
Michelle always sets high expectations and with her experienced support they made significant progress.
Michelle is fun and establishes positive relationships with children providing a nurturing environment, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
I have worked with Michelle in a school environment. We worked with young children which some had English as a second language. She was able to get them to speak fluently with using various support methods including phonics . She is warm, kind and the children open to her and are very responsive with her methods of learning and learn very quickly. And they always have fun and enjoy learning with her. She's a great teacher.
First of all, I just want to say I was absolutely gutted when I found out that my experienced member of staff was leaving. She has made a huge impact to Early Years and most importantly our children. Children had so much respect for her and thoroughly enjoyed working with her. Her love of 1:1 work was clearly evident and our children made the most progress working with Michelle (specifically in phonics). She was also known for carrying out the most enthusiastic interventions to develop children's language and adults in the school used to watch her in awe. I truly recommend Michelle if you want your child to flourish and also enjoy themselves whilst learning.

Michelle is a wonderful tutor. I would highly recommend her. She has helped our children move through the phonics stages. She’s extremely engaged, she’s very fun and very thorough. Her high energy has helped our kids learn in a fun way but produce very good results. Michelle is the best phonics teacher and I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Michelle has a passion for helping children to excel academically using different teaching styles depending on the individual needs of the child.
Since working with Michelle, my 7-year-old nephew has grown in confidence with her support, not just in his commitment to learning, but also in his confidence and academic ability.
She has a gift for understanding children which is both professional, compassionate, and level-headed. She brings her warm humour to her teaching which children love.Michelle is a wonderful phonics tutor. She was wonderful working with my child (6G) who can be very shy and reluctant with adults. She immediately got on her level and learnt how to connect with her through her favourite toy(!). My child caught up with her peers very quickly thanks to Michelle and is noticeably having a much better time at school.
She was also incredibly organised and was willing to talk to me throughout the process about my daughter's progress and the methods she was using class to class.I am a qualified primary school teacher with years of experience in a number of London state. schools. I can thoroughly recommend Michelle’s ability to work productively with children, particularly in phonics and early reading. She makes learning really fun and has an excellent rapport with younger children. She has many years experience both in the classroom, and as a tutor.
