About Olivia
I’m Olivia! I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and I am currently completing my Master's in School Psychology.
I have a strong background in evidence-based literacy instruction and hands-on experience helping students develop reading skills. I’m passionate about creating lessons that are clear, structured, and engaging, so students not only improve their reading but also gain confidence in their abilities. I love seeing students succeed and feel empowered by the skills they’re building.

I teach reading using approaches aligned with the Science of Reading, where phonics instruction is direct, explicit, and systematic, meaning skills are clearly taught rather than left open to interpretation. Students strengthen phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and spelling through structured visual and auditory phonological activities.
My teaching focuses on modelling skills, guided practice, and cumulative review to build accuracy and automaticity. A typical lesson includes a short review of previously learned sounds, phonological awareness activities (such as blending or segmenting sounds), explicit instruction of a new sound or pattern, decoding practice with words and short texts, and spelling activities that reinforce sound–letter relationships.
My lessons are designed for elementary and middle school students who want to strengthen their reading skills, particularly those who benefit from structured, evidence-based literacy instruction. I focus on creating a clear and supportive learning environment where students can build both skill and confidence.
