About Michelle
As mentioned, I've been teaching and tutoring in various capacities for about 7 or 8 years. In this time I've been a Literature and Language Arts Instructor, a Creative Writing instructor, and I currently teach 9th grade Poetry. I've also acted in administrative roles assisting teachers with professional development and curriculum design. Many of my students have gone on to attend excellent universities, publish their own work, and score well on their standardized tests!

I am an experienced Literature and Writing (both academic and creative) teacher and tutor with over 7 years of experience working with students from Kindergarten all the way through undergraduate students. I have a BA in English Literature, an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University, and I'm currently a PhD Fellow in the University of Houston's Literature and Creative Writing department.
Though I enjoy working with students at all levels, the great majority of my teaching and tutoring experience has been with later middle school (8th graders) and high school students.

My rates are consistent across student grade and age level.
I don't charge extra for travel.
Please note: There will be a $3 fee for essay editing outside of tutoring hours (ie. If your student has an essay due before our next tutoring session and really, really, really needs last minute feedback).
