About Charlie
I am a CELTA qualified English teacher with seven years experience in educational settings teaching many students with a range of needs and backgrounds. I have prepared students for Cambridge and IELTS exams, with a 100% pass rate. Exam coaching offered includes Young Learner, Key, Preliminary, First and IELTS. I also have extensive experience as a drama workshop facilitator and have used drama techniques to teach everyday English to refugees in East London for the last three years.

My approach is engaging, memorable, fun and exacting. I combine the communicative methodology with TPR (Total Physical Response) and drama facilitation techniques to suit each student, from children to professionals. I am warm and encouraging as a teacher, and I give clear feedback. Classes include a mixture of activities that include standing up and sitting down (even online!), and there is always time for consolidation. Classes will focus on conversation, listening and grammar skills, with most attention to reading and writing given in homework, although this is flexible depending on the needs of the student.
