About Amber
I consider myself to be a jack of all trades when it comes to art; I have worked in painting, drawing, illustration, graphic design, and a little print work but illustration is my area of expertise. This is my first time giving private lessons professionally, though I have tutored several classmates and friends and saw improvement with their artwork, specifically with proportions and color studies.

My method of teaching is very hands on; you cannot learn how to be a successful illustrator without picking up a pencil and practicing yourself. I always recommend going out and sketching from life whenever possible as well as reaching out to others for constructive feedback. One of the biggest challenges illustrators face is meeting the demands of clients and the messages they want a piece to reflect. I teach students how to take a set of instructions and transform it into an incredible illustration.
When it comes to mediums, I instruct my students to start basic with paper and pencil and work up to colored digital art. My belief is that an artist must master traditional art before expanding to digital art.
