About Justin

I have a JD from Moritz Law School at The Ohio State University, a PhD in philosophy and political science from Michigan, an M Phil in history and philosophy of science from Cambridge, and an AB in philosophy from Princeton. I have many published articles, including in Legal Theory, The Ohio State Law Journal, The Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly, The Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law, The Texas Journal of Women and Law, Legal Studies, the Encyclopedia of Global Justice, and many philosophy journals. I clerked on the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Northern District of Illinois. I worked as an Associate at JonesDay and Kirkland & Ellis, and practiced as a solo attorney for over a decade, writing scores, perhaps hundreds, of briefs and memorandums of law submitted to courts.

I can help with difficult readings and improving your writing (yours, not ChatGPT's). I'll discuss your assigned cases and readings. I also have dozens of syllabi from over the years I can cover with you if you like.

Happy to help lawyers, law professors and legal professionals with legal writing of briefs and articles.

My approach is socratic rather than lecturey: I'll ask questions, and, based on your answers, follow up with even more questions, as well as provide written comments on your writing (charging for time spent commenting in writing).
