About Elijah Malukutila
Teaching holds a profound personal significance for me, driven by a blend of admiration for exceptional educators and a familial passion for education. In high school, I was fortunate to learn from remarkable teachers whose wisdom continues to shape my approach to teaching today. Moreover, both of my parents are educators who teach at the college and university levels, instilling in me a deep appreciation for the transformative power of education.
My journey into tutoring is also motivated by a desire to contribute meaningfully while earning supplementary income. I approach every tutoring session with a high level of professionalism, ensuring that each student receives personalized attention tailored to their unique learning needs.
I am currently a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Cape Town, where I have excelled in rigorous coursework in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in my first and second years. My tutoring sessions are designed not only to help students grasp challenging concepts but also to foster a genuine enjoyment and understanding of the subjects.

As a tutor, my primary goal is to empower students with the tools and confidence they need to tackle challenging subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Math. My approach is interactive and student-centered, focusing on deep understanding and practical problem-solving skills.
I prefer an in-person question-solving approach that encourages students to think critically and independently. This method not only helps in grasping complex concepts but also builds problem-solving confidence.
A typical lesson involves a quick recap of our previous engagement and addressing any lingering questions then we transition into working on questions and eventually end the lesson with a discussion of what the student has learnt.
My lessons cater to students from high school through first-year university. For high school students, I support those mastering basics as well as those preparing for advanced exams. For first-year university students, I specialize in easing the transition to the more rigorous university curriculum.
