About Jordon
With a strong background in STEM, healthcare, and literacy instruction through AmeriCorps, I tutor K–12 and advanced subjects—including elementary reading, calculus, chemistry, physics, and SAT/ACT prep. As a stay-at-home dad of six and a licensed foster parent, my home is a constant center for patience, adaptability, and mentorship. I draw on these real-world experiences to meet every student where they are, breaking down complex concepts and creating a calm, supportive environment where asking questions is always encouraged. About Your Lessons My teaching approach focuses on patient, structured guidance that addresses the root cause of academic frustration. Rather than relying on simple memorization, I help students understand the "why" behind the material so they build lasting independence.

My teaching approach focuses on patience, structure, and making complex material clear. For K–12 students, experiencing frustration usually stems from a gap in foundational skills. I directly engage students in learning the "why" behind concepts so they build lasting confidence rather than temporary memorization.
How Sessions Work:
Check-In (5–10 min): Reviewing homework, upcoming tests, or confusing classroom topics.
Active Learning (35–40 min): Engaging with problem-solving or reading comprehension by breaking complex ideas into bite-sized steps.
Recap (5–10 min): Summarizing key takeaways so the student leaves confident in what they mastered.
I adapt every lesson to keep your student engaged at their unique pace, whether supporting their school curriculum or using targeted practice materials.
The "Teach-Back" Method: Once we master the fundamentals, I have the student teach the concept back to me. This active recall technique solidifies understanding, uncovers hidden gaps, and gives them true ownership of the material.
