About Charlotte
I am a undergraduate student studying LLB Law at University of Nottingham. I got A*AA in my A levels, with history being one of them and I got 100% on my history coursework. I have been tutoring history GCSE for around 3 months working with disadvantaged students in particular who have low grades. The biggest change I have seen in my students is a boost in confidence and they are excited to learn and engage with the lessons more and more. This has been so rewarding for me to see this change and has fuelled my passion for tutoring history.

I will adapt my lessons to what works best for you. I will ask you what you struggle with the most and topics you know the least about and I preferably like to start the lesson off asking what you know about the topic I will go on teach. This is just to gain an understanding of what you do know and how I should teach the lesson. Then i will go into depth about the topic, I like to give more knowledge than you need to know for GCSEs because this is how you gain a greater understanding and can develop your answers and will help you link events together. Throughout giving you this knowledge i will make sure it’s not just a passive lecture by interacting and asking you questions. Then i will go through the structure of the exam question i would like you to try. Depending on how confident the student is I will either let them work on the question themselves straight away or I will do a practice question with them first and show a model answer. Then i will go through their independent answer to the question and tell them what is good and what they need to improve on and then next lesson I will recap and ask questions to see what they remember and what they have improved on and what needs more work.
