About Claudia

I have always loved tutoring and teaching, particularly the subjects that I love the most: English literature and language, Italian literature and language, Mathematics and Philosophy. In particular, English literature is my passion for its eclecticism that, in my opinion, cannot be found in all the other literatures. It was to study more deeply this huge variety of themes and styles that I came to England, in September 2016, to read the BA (Hons) English literature at the University of Brighton, where I have obtained outstanding results. One of my plans for the future, and possibly my favourite, is to teach this subject on Highschool level. However, I am interested in a wide number of subjects, that I’ve cultivated by myself, studying them assiduously once I finished highschool. This came handy when, in 2013, I was asked to tutor in philosophy, physics, Italian language and many other subjects. My pupils - 12, by now - have always been satisfied and I can proudly affirm that they have quite improved with my lessons. The philosophy lessons have particularly been productive, as many of my students managed to drastically improve their grades in the subject and they started to love it as I do. Most importantly though, is the experience I have made, that gave me the opportunity to meet many amazing persons, everyone with their own personality. They have helped me to exit from the schemes, trying to find a different teaching method for any of them, adapting to their needs and necessities.
Furthermore, having been tutoring in both Italy and Ireland, I have demonstrated to be able to interact with people from all nationalities and all ages. The experience in Ireland during the years 2015-2016 has particularly influenced me, as the work as Aupair straightened my organisational skills and I have learned how to build an amazing relationship with children.

About the lesson

Hi there, I'm Claudia!
I am a student of English Literature, although I have a secret passion for philosophy, that I have studied widely in highschool and have cultivated successively by myself.
The teaching of Academic Philosophy can deeply vary according to the decisions of the teacher. However, as Philosophy is one of my passions, I love to focus on close analysis of the texts and the authors, which are often difficult to understand. My purpose is to really enter into the thoughts of these ancient and modern authors, in order to really feel what they said. In order to do this is necessary to fucus as well on the history of philosophy and history itself. This can help to take the subject as a novel, making it more interesting and easier to follow.
