About Lesa

I have been teaching for over 20 years in the field of being a resource/special education teacher. The social emotional domain of learning is more important to me in my teaching experience before I can focus on the cognitive/academic domain. Knowing the needs of each student helps build strong and healthy working relationships which in turn shows through their learning experiences. I have also been teaching service/stewardship learning for over 20 years and I have mentored many youths transitioning from elementary into middle, middle into high and high school into college. I love my experience as an inspirational and motivational speaker to young people with special needs. I also have experience with test taking strategies related to many of the local and statewide assessments. I have created social emotional programs within the schools, community programs in various communities, sat on panels to advocate for students, ran summer and after-care programs, programs in church communities and much more. Your experience becomes my experience as we learn together.

About the lesson

I love working with students with exceptional needs, great interpersonal skills. love to integrate your interest into the learning experience. Teaching experience pre-K - 8th grade (classes will be for pre-K to 3rd grade). I love service learning, museums/arts integration, gospel music, helping others in any way possible especially high school students find scholarships and most of all my spending quality time with my son.

Details

There will be a fee for cancellation without a 48 hour notice. Emergencies are understood. I am willing to work with students in a library setting or other public setting depending on the travel distance to the student's home. I am willing to possible doing some webcam sessions.
