About Kenya
I hold a C1 proficiency in French and studied at the London School of Economics, where I completed a BSc in International Relations and Chinese and am currently pursuing an MSc. My multilingual background — I also speak Mandarin and German — gives me a strong intuition for how language learning works and the common pitfalls students face, which I use to anticipate and address difficulties before they become habits.

I offer French tutoring for GCSE, IB and A-Level students aged 13–18, with a focus on building genuine linguistic confidence alongside strong exam technique. As a C1-level French speaker with a degree from the London School of Economics, I combine academic rigour with a practical, communicative approach to language learning.
My French lessons are designed for students who want to improve their written expression, oral confidence, grammar accuracy, or overall exam performance. Whether you are struggling with the foundations or aiming for the top grades, lessons are fully tailored to your current level, exam board, and specific areas of difficulty.
My approach and methodology
I take a dual approach to French: consolidating the grammatical structures that underpin written accuracy, while also developing the confidence to use the language naturally in speaking and writing tasks.
I find that many students have passive knowledge of French — they recognise structures but freeze when asked to produce them independently. My lessons are designed to bridge that gap. We work through grammar systematically, practise written tasks under timed conditions, and build oral fluency through structured speaking exercises relevant to your exam topics. I use authentic French materials where appropriate to expose students to natural language use beyond the textbook.
Lesson structure
Sessions typically run for 60 minutes. Each lesson begins with a brief review of the previous session, moves into focused work on the target area — whether grammar, writing, reading comprehension, or speaking — and closes with a consolidation task. I provide written feedback and resources after each session, so progress continues between lessons.
