About Rachel
Hi, I am a third year LSE undergrad student majoring in Maths and Economics, and I would love to be your tutor in Maths, Economics, Statistics or Mandarin. I believe I have a very approachable teaching style. Having 2 younger sisters and having tutored many younger students in my high school years, I have developed a skill to explain difficult concepts in the simplest of language. I truly believe learning is the most efficient when the teacher and the student are thinking on the same level and using the same language. I like to come up with different versions of the same question, by making students tackle easier versions of the same question, and building up from there. I pride myself on my creativity in coming up with new methods of teaching and patience in helping every student reach the answer with their own logic as much as I can. Something that comes natural to one may not be easily seen by another, and the ability adapting to each student's mode of thinking and the perseverance in trying different approaches is the characteristic that will make me stand out amongst the other tutors. Rachel used to help me with maths and physics in her spare time when we went to high school together. She was always able to simplify and explain things to me in a way that I can understand, from alpha particles to graph transformations.
