About Julissa
"Twenty-one years in Washington DC taught me that language is about connection, not just textbooks. I admit that I am quite particular about Madrid-standard pronunciation. My work focuses on cultural context, accent and intonation, and business Spanish.

"You will find that the initial session acts as a roadmap for your specific linguistic journey. Because I hold an MA from UChicago, I apply an Instituto Cervantes methodology to help you progress through complex listening practice and conversational fluency exercises.
Ten minutes of our time is dedicated to weekly conversation practice recordings that we review together to ensure constant improvement. These 10-minute segments allow for precise feedback on your rhythm and syntax.
Relying on my 13 years of teaching experience, I structure our time to be rigorous yet accessible for adult learners. You receive a consistent framework that prioritizes actual usage over simple test preparation strategies. This process ensures that you feel confident when speaking in real-world scenarios rather than just checking boxes."
