About Natsumi

Hello! My name is Natsumi.

I started offering lessons because I would love to connect with people who are even slightly interested in Japan—such as those who:
“are going to Japan soon but don’t have many opportunities to speak with native speakers,”
“are curious about Japanese culture,”
“are wondering what traveling in Japan is like,” or
“love Japanese manga and anime!”

When I was a university student, I spent six months assisting Japanese language classes at a high school in Indonesia together with local teachers. I was able to introduce not only the Japanese language, but also Japanese culture such as yukata, matcha, and origami. It was a truly wonderful experience.

After graduating from university, I worked for five years as an office worker in Tokyo. I can also share insights about Japanese university life and working culture in Japanese companies. (I also attended a Japanese teacher training school while working.)

My hobbies are traveling and hiking (light trekking).
I have mainly traveled around Asia, and I also enjoy traveling within Japan. There are so many amazing places in Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa
I go hiking a few times a year. Now that I live in Australia, it’s not easy to go often, but Oze National Park is one of my favorite places.

About the lesson

≪Experience≫
I assisted Japanese language classes for six months in Indonesia
I taught pronunciation, conversation practice, and Japanese cultural exchange activities such as yukata wearing, origami, matcha tea experience, and Japanese cooking.

I completed a Japanese language teacher training program and obtained certification at the time
In addition to linguistics and grammar study, I also conducted mock lessons.

Other experience besides teaching Japanese
Having worked at Japanese companies and attended university in Japan, I can introduce natural Japanese conversations based on real-life experience.

From 25 to 50 minutes

≪Who my lessons are for & teaching methodology≫
Beginners (N4): Students learn basic grammar, vocabulary, and speaking. Lessons are conducted in English and simple Japanese.

Intermediate (N3–N2): Students practice mainly open conversation in Japanese. Lessons are mainly in Japanese with some English support.

Advanced (N1+): Students focus on deeper topics such as culture and formal language. Lessons are conducted in Japanese.
