About Briar

I am a passionate and experienced singing tutor with over 20+ years of teaching college students, and I am dedicated to helping each student discover and develop their unique voice. My teaching approach focuses on building a strong technical foundation while also encouraging creativity, confidence, and self-expression.

I guide students through essential vocal techniques such as breath control, pitch accuracy, tone development, vocal strength, and flexibility, ensuring that they develop a healthy and well-balanced voice. In addition to technical training, I emphasise performance skills such as stage presence, emotional expression, and audience connection, helping students become confident performers.

I use innovative tools like audio recording, playback analysis, and structured practice routines to help students clearly track their progress and improve effectively. I also encourage students to explore a wide range of music genres so they can become versatile singers and discover their own artistic style. My lessons are personalised, supportive, and interactive.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching Singing focuses on motivation, effective communication, creativity, and proper time management. I aim to make learning both enjoyable and productive for every student. I understand that each learner is different, so I adapt my teaching style to match their level, pace, and goals.

I motivate students by setting clear and achievable goals and encouraging them to practise regularly. I explain vocal techniques such as breathing, pitch control, and voice modulation in a simple and structured way. I ensure that students understand each concept before moving forward.

Creativity plays an important role in my teaching. I include activities like singing exercises, expression training, and practising songs from different genres. This not only improves their skills but also builds confidence and stage presence.

Each class is well-organised with proper time for warm-ups, technique building, song practice, and feedback. I also review previous lessons to make sure students are improving continuously.

In addition to Singing, I also teach related areas like music theory, listening skills, and voice care. This helps students develop a deeper understanding of music and become well-rounded performers.
