About Derek

With 40 years as a musician and 30 years teaching it, I know what I'm doing and how to make it fun.

My background is worship music, band directing, elementary music, rock, country & jazz gigging, writing, arranging & recording.

All ages are welcome.

Don't doubt yourself; all things are possible! Let's go!

About the lesson

Most people who start guitar lessons dont see it through. They decide guitar's not for them. Usually, the problem isn't guitar- it's the lessons. Or the teacher!

I personalize my lessons for each student's goals and learning styles.

I make my lessons fun. My goal is to get you feeling good about yourself and wanting to practice between lessons. No fun = no practice. You know it!
