About Becca
Outside of teaching, I am a theater performer, death doula, somatic practitioner, and I created a non-profit that brings joy to children in hospitals (Prescription Joy). I left the classroom because I did not feel learning should happen inside thick cement walls all day. Though I do not miss the schedule or the institution of education, I miss working with students and creating learning opportunities with them and for them. Other interests: -Circus training -Escape rooms -Dungeons and Dragons -Learning Spanish -Learning so many things!

After 10+ years of teaching in elementary school classrooms, I have discovered that no learning can happen unless there is a strong rapport between student and teacher.
For this reason, my first session is always free and dedicated to connection and learning about one another. I customize each lesson to each student, so their interests determine my approach. For example, if a student is very interested in space, skills we cover will be connected to that content to create engagement.
