About Taggart
I have a background in jazz, classical, folk, pop, and other genres, and have taught music for several years. I can play a myriad of instruments from piano and ukulele/guitar to clarinet and saxophone. I am also an interdisciplinarian, meaning I draw parallels from other disciplines (like cognitive science, design thinking, philosophy, and others). In our increasingly specialized world, one of the most secretly valued skills is integrating perspectives effectively, and I have extensive experience mentoring and leading in this field. I offer a more ergonomic approach to music education than most teachers, allowing students to enjoy engaging projects right off the bat. These principles are easily taught and applied for any level of student, but others just don’t know how to teach them!
