About Lauren
I’ve been sewing since I was 13 years old and my mom showed me how to thread a sewing machine. I attended CCA for fashion design and learned pattern making, as well as fabric dyeing and printing. Now I design and construct garments from the ground up, both for myself and to sell. I’ve made everything from swimwear to quilts to jeans. I currently work as a tailor on photo shoots, specializing in men’s suiting.

My goal as a teacher is to make sewing fun! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned sewist, my lesson plans are designed around your own goals so you stay engaged and end up with a piece you’ll want to keep. And if you don’t have a machine, I have one you can use ;)
I teach basic sewing machine operation, how to read and use a sewing pattern, help with sewing projects from idea to creation, alterations for store-bought clothing, flat pattern making and draping, fabric dyeing, and quilt making.
