Throughout high school and afterwards I have been studying music in all kinds of fields, weather it is performance, history, theory, or even as little as general music. And still am to this day, I keep on an everyday practice. I will normally start my lessons with a general idea of what music really is, and if it is an instrument then I specify the body parts of the instrument, and it's background. And I even provide lessons on all kinds of music, in which my favorite method is by starting from the earliest kinds of music all throughout classical, jazz and pop culture to the 20th century kind of music.
I have been in several kinds of ensembles, such as jazz/big band, wind ensembles, pit orchestras, solo, duets, all county both band and made auditions. Etc.. but I believe that it is most important to one that they keep on practicing which is how I like to label progress, both as advice and to a personal level.
I like to vary my price depending on the student, If it gives me a little more work then it can be a solid 15-20/hr, however if the student(s) already have a general idea of the subject then I will be fair and lower from 8-10/hr.
