About Chris
Hi, I’m Chris — a PhD student in Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo, and I’ve spent the better part of a decade at the intersection of physics, mathematics, music, and technology.
My academic journey began with a BSc in Physics & Astronomy, followed by an MSc in Physics where I specialized in digital signal processing and acoustics. The kind of fields that demand the kind of rigorous mathematical thinking that I now help my students develop. I’m currently pursuing my PhD while working full-time as a Software QA Engineer, which means the skills I teach aren’t abstract to me, I use them every day.
I’ve been teaching for over 5 years across high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels, and I take that responsibility seriously. Every student who sits down with me gets my full attention, a structured approach, and a tutor who genuinely cares whether they walk away understanding the material, not just having completed the session.
My students consistently tell me that I have a rare ability to make difficult concepts feel accessible without dumbing them down. That’s not luck, it’s the result of years of learning how to think about hard problems from multiple angles, as a physicist, an engineer, a developer, and a musician.
I am punctual, reliable, and professional in all my interactions, and committed to creating a safe, focused, and encouraging learning environment for every student.

Whether you’re tackling high school calculus or graduate-level physics, my lessons are built around one core belief: understanding beats memorization every time.
I don’t just show you how to solve a problem — I show you why it works. That means building real intuition for the material, so you can walk into any exam confident, not just prepared.
My approach is problem-solving focused and always tailored to where you are. Struggling with the fundamentals? We’ll rebuild from the ground up. Ready to push further? We’ll go there together.
With a BSc in Physics & Astronomy, an MSc in Physics, and 5+ years of teaching experience across high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels, I’ve helped students at every stage find their footing — and exceed their own expectations.
What sets me apart is that my expertise wasn’t built in a classroom alone — it was built through genuine passion. As both a musician and a scientist specializing in audio and acoustics, I’ve spent years developing deep intuition at the intersection of art and physics. That’s not an accident; it’s what happens when you spend your life doing what you love. The same curiosity that drives my research and my music is exactly what I bring to every lesson — because intuition can’t be faked, and it can’t be taught from a textbook alone. My goal is to help you build that same kind of deep, personal understanding of the material.
