About Liam
I began swimming at a young age, and over the past 20+ years, I have developed into a highly experienced swimmer and certified coach with a strong record of achievement. My competitive background includes earning medals in regional competitions and consistently performing at a high level in organized swimming events.
In addition to pool competition, I have completed several open water races and endurance swims, showcasing advanced stamina and adaptability in challenging conditions. My professional qualifications as a certified swim instructor allow me to deliver structured, high-quality coaching tailored to each individual.
I have worked with a diverse range of clients, helping them improve technique, build confidence, and achieve personal and competitive goals. My coaching combines technical expertise, real-world experience, and a results-oriented mindset. With a proven track record and over two decades in the sport, I provide a professional and effective pathway for swimmers to reach their full potential.

My Coaching Style: I like to coach individuals on a 1:1 basis and usually focus on open water swimming and helping triathletes improve their technique and also fitness in the water. I am happy to coach all 4 strokes or focus on one particular stroke/discipline as preferred. All sessions and plans are tailored to the individual and what they want to achieve.
I coach in water during public adult lane swim sessions for 2 reasons (1) I can see your stroke and analyse it from all angles including underwater (2) I can demonstrate skills and drills in person. I tend to work with clients as they need, either on an ad hoc basis or with more regular slots e.g. weekly/fortnightly (e.g. in the lead up to an event or to fit around your commitments).
I can also put together more structured/long term programmes depending on your requirements and aims - these are all developed and priced on an individual basis (and will work a discount into the price so you get value for your money!) Types of Clients: I specialise in coaching adults who have busy working lives and want to improve their technique if they are just starting out on their swimming journey, and those who may have been swimming for a little longer or who have maybe taken some time away from swimming and want to get back in the pool and increase their fitness or train for a specific event.
My client base is varied! It includes, non-swimmers(those with no prior knowledge), new swimmers, first-time triathletes, full and half ironmen/women, open water swimmers, people who are recovering from injury and want to include a non-weight bearing sport into their programme, trainee scuba divers and free divers and also those who just want to improve their skills and get moving.
