I’m a teacher and lifelong reader who grew up with Malayalam all around me.
Today I see a gap: many kids in Kerala speak less Malayalam, professionals from other states struggle at work here, and spouses marrying into Malayali families can’t talk to their in-laws. Visitors love Kerala but leave frustrated because they know only a few words, sometimes the wrong ones. Everyone keeps saying, “Malayalam is too hard.”

I teach to change that story. I want to spread Malayalam to anyone who needs it — whether you’re a child reconnecting with your mother tongue, a partner learning to speak with your spouse’s family, or a traveler who wants more than a phrasebook. Language shouldn’t be a wall.

Bridging Cultures Through Language: Learn Malayalam from a Native Speaker

Hello and welcome!
I'm Theertha, and I'll be guiding you through your Malayalam learning journey. I'm Kerala-born and raised, meaning I've been breathing, thinking and speaking Malayalam for years-long before I ever decided to teach it! Whether you are starting from scratch, or looking to brush up your conversational skills, you are in the right place.

As a native Malayalam speaker, I have a deep love for this language but I also love the journey of learning itself. I'm currently pursuing both my Master's degree and TESOL Certification, which keeps me closely connected to the best and most effective ways of teaching.

To give you an idea of what to expect, here is how we will approach learning together:
. Beyond just memorization: We won't spend hours just memorizing endless lists of alphabets, grammar rules, or isolated vocabulary words out of context.
. Real-Life Scenarios: We will recreate practical, everyday situations right in class-like ordering food at a restaurant, chatting with shopkeepers, or talking to family members.
. Interactive: You will actively participate in conversational dialogue, allowing you to practice and adapt your skills in a safe, supportive space.
. Practical Confidence: The ultimate goal is to get you speaking and understanding Malayalam (reading, writing) naturally, building the confidence you need for real-world interactions from day one.
