About Ida

I bring over 30 years of experience teaching Chinese at the high school level in Hong Kong. As a dedicated and patient educator, I employ a variety of innovative teaching methods and advanced computer skills to help students effectively grasp language concepts.

During my tenure, I served as the Head of Putonghua, where I spearheaded numerous initiatives to enrich students' learning experiences. This included organizing diverse activities and programs designed to immerse students in the language and culture, fostering both their academic and personal growth.

Now, I focus on teaching adults Mandarin and Cantonese, tailoring my approach to meet their specific learning needs and drawing upon their personal experiences to make lessons more engaging and relevant. I believe in creating a supportive and interactive environment that empowers learners to develop practical language skills, whether for personal enrichment or professional use.

My commitment to excellence and adaptability has consistently enabled me to create meaningful learning opportunities, inspiring students to develop a lifelong appreciation for the Chinese language and culture.

About the lesson

My method is based on the needs of the students. Usually, I will teach speaking and listening in the beginning, then integrate grammar and daily expression. Multimedia is my favourite tool in teaching.
