About Zhian

Hello, I'm Zhian Yao, and I'm also the teacher of this Chinese and Cantonese class. I was born in Canton Province, Guangzhou, China, and my native language is Chinese and Cantonese. For many years, I live in an English environment, and I have deeply realized the importance of language for communication, cultural identity and family connection. I opened this course because I saw that many overseas Chinese children are gradually alienated from Chinese and Cantonese in the process of growing up. I also found that many foreign friends are interested in Chinese culture, but suffer from the lack of a relaxed and systematic learning channel. I hope to use my language ability and teaching experience to help more people establish a good connection with Chinese, Cantonese and Chinese culture. In my class, you won't find the language boring. I will combine daily dialogue, cultural stories, interactive games and real situational exercises, so that every student can open their mouths naturally and make steady progress in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Whether you want to lay a solid foundation for your children's mother tongue, or as an adult learner, you want to challenge yourself and open a cultural door, I welcome you to join our warm language learning community.
