About Olivia
I have performed professionally in a mariachi band for years, and that tradition, rich with emotional, powerful singing, shapes almost everything about how I teach voice today. Nine years into teaching now, I've worked with about one hundred seventy-five students, many of them genuinely drawn to traditional Mexican music and culture specifically. My performance background gives me genuine, lived insight into ranchera's emotional depth and cultural richness, insight that purely classically trained voice teachers simply cannot offer their students. My years performing in a mariachi band shape a teaching approach built around traditional ranchera vocal style, real repertoire, and the genuine emotional expression this tradition demands.
