"Everything should be as simple as possible, but no simpler"
I try to utilize that methodology especially when dealing with complex concepts, that may be difficult to understand. I know firsthand how scientific jargon can get confusing, and go out of my way to not only make science less intimidating, but fun and relate-able to all involved! Even if this means going outside, showing real life examples, I want my student to understand that science is a necessity in life, and not something to be feared.
I am a marine biologist with 5 years experience in various positions, including non-profit, government, and private sector work. I have worked at Clearwater Marine Aquarium for two years and a Marine and Environmental specialist, both teaching classes and giving eco-tours, as well as conducting my own research. I have interned with the FWC and am active in the marine science community. My experience with eco-tourism and public outreach has made me adept at explaining complex problems and ideas to a wide array of audiences.
I am very forgiving when it comes to fees. I know tutoring can be expensive, and if there is any issue with affordability, I would be more than happy to work something out! I would probably charge additional fees for trips over 20 miles.
I do this because I love teaching, and if I have to stay and extra 15-20 minutes to help you with schoolwork, its not a problem. I want you to be able to succeed, and not be afraid of science!
