About Teresa

I am a Spanish woman who despite having a career in the Corporate World has a passion about languages and teaching and love sharing the beauty of the Spanish language! I grew up in family full of teachers and literature, and having the chance of sharing a bit of Spanish language and culture with those interested on it is a true gift. Part of my family lived in Latin America for decades, so I have perfect knowledge about all Spanish varieties.

About the lesson

- I prefer to combine various teaching methodologies: Communicative Language Teaching, where real interactions are placed a little over grammar (although grammar is taught too!) and Content-Based Instruction, using different sources of language resources. Also, with a focus on the Direct Method, with nearly all the lesson conducted in Spanish (I speak English, French, Italian and Portuguese too, so some orientation in other languages could be made). The final combination among them is always the result of the student or group needs.

- The length of the lesson depends on the student’s needs, level and expectations, but on average I recommend 60 to 90 minutes.

- I have a double degree in Law and Business Administration and two masters, one in International Affairs (Economics) and other in Teaching. I currently work as a Marketing Manager but always had this passion about teaching and languages that I believe can be combined with a career in the Corporate World. I began my teaching journey in High School as a private tutor and had several experiences during my master’s and in the recent years, with some training with teachers in Galicia (Spain).

- My lessons could be for anyone, but targeting a little and taking account of my background, they could suit better starting from young adult age and for those who want to learn or improve their Spanish with a business focus.
