I have trained with John for over 20 years. He is very knowledge, patient, and really has the heart of a teacher. He is easily one of the best teachers in martial arts Ive had. He fosters a spirit of family under his school and is a prime example of a martial artist who inspires to learn and become.

As a student of Sifu John Wicker for 2.5 years, I can say he believes in quality martial arts, not quantity. He dedicates time each class to one one teaching to each student. With his 40 years of martial arts experience, his attention to detail is superb, fixing even the most minor detail to ensure his students are learning the proper form and technique. He doesn't push students to learn new forms or techniques until the student has demonstrated they are ready for something new. Tradition is very important to Sifu Wicker in his kung fu school. Not only are students learning how to defend themselves, but they also learn the history of mantis kung fu, the lineage, the language, and which master developed a form. With the kids class, he is very patient, and makes it a fun learning environment for the kids. If someone is interested in learning a traditional martial art, I would encourage them to come and take a class.
