My daughter has been under Darren's instruction for 3 years and obtained her black belt from him in karate. She is now a strong 12 year old that I know can defend herself when I'm not around. Darren has been wonderful. He explains techniques well, is patient, organized, fun, reliable and thoughtful. He is always looking out for the best of the children and goes above and beyond.

Coach Darren is an excellent teacher, mentor, and practician. I haven't found anyone as precise, detail-oriented, and passionate about not just martial arts itself, but what is most practical and effective for both competition and self-defense. Having spent over a year with him as his student, I know my technique has gotten better and that I've made better use of my time, and I'm confident that working with him will bring the best out of me. He's personally helped me extensively with kickboxing, grappling, physical therapy, and stretching/mobility for higher kicks and injury prevention.

I’m a small female in my early 40s, and while I took some karate and BJJ classes in my teens and early 30s, I decided over a year ago that I wanted to seriously return to martial arts training. I looked into several schools and styles, but I often felt nervous and intimidated by the predominately male environments and instructors. Although I wanted to learn, I was hesitant to commit and worried about getting injured.

I’m so glad I found Darren to train with. He’s an exceptional teacher who not only demonstrates techniques clearly but also explains the purpose and reasoning behind each movement. What I appreciate most is how he draws on his extensive martial arts background to tailor training specifically to my goals. The foundation of our work has been Jeet Kune Do (JKD), a discipline I hadn’t practiced before, and I absolutely love it.
