About Ishir
I’m a Chemistry tutor with over 4 years of experience and an MSc in Analytical Chemistry. I have a deep passion for the chemistry of natural products and biomolecules. My interest lies in exploring how nature creates complex and fascinating compounds with unique functions. From colorful dyes in plants to flavors and biologically active compounds, I love uncovering the chemistry behind it all. I specialize in teaching the study of secondary metabolites—molecules that plants, fungi, and microbes produce for survival and defense. I guide students through the process of extraction and isolation of these compounds from living organisms. I also help them understand the techniques used to determine their structure, function, and relevance in daily life. My approach is hands-on and concept-driven. I simplify complex ideas and connect them to real-life applications. Together, we explore how Chemistry helps us understand the hidden language of nature. My teaching approach in Chemistry is systematic, clear, and focused on understanding rather than memorizing. I break down complex organic structures into simple, logical steps. Students often struggle with organic chemistry, so I use visual tools, patterns, and everyday examples to make topics like nomenclature, functional groups, and reaction mechanisms easier to learn.
We explore key concepts such as isomerism and resonance, building a solid foundation for more advanced topics like organic synthesis. I also include important areas like stereochemistry, reaction pathways, and the behavior of carbon-based compounds. My lessons are structured yet flexible, adjusting to each student's pace and learning style.
I provide regular feedback, so students always know where they stand and how to improve. Mistakes are welcomed as part of the learning process. As an environmentalist and marine biologist, I often link chemistry to real-world applications, making learning more exciting and meaningful.
