About Sara
Currently working at the University Level in Institutional Research. Writing code in SQL. Working in PowerBI. Additionally teaching Cloud Computing at the University Level as an Adjunct Professor. Began my teaching career in K-12 and have taught all grade levels at a private school, but also served as a substitute teacher. My undergraduate work was at a small college in Kansas. I obtained a degree in Speech/Theatre with a minor in Biology. I went on to get my master's after I discovered my love for complex formulas in Excel. My Master's degree is an MBA with an emphasis in Database Management Systems. I only began my IT career about 6 years ago. I've worked in the AWS suite and with so many programs related to higher ed since then. What makes me a good teacher, however, is my genuine love for teaching and humanity. There is nothing better than the moment when someone truly "gets it." The "AHA" moment, as they say is a teacher's best present.

I teach by listening and responding to the student at their level. My approach is to first build a relationship and trust with the student. Understanding where you're at as a learner and what your needs are allows me to better adjust curriculum to your unique learning style and needs. Empathy and patience, eclectic knowledge base, and ability to explain complex concepts are what I bring to the table. I also genuinely love teaching.
