About John
I am 41 years old and enjoy reading, gardening and playing golf with my sons and swimming in the summer, while in the winter I love to snowboard and write short stories that I publish online for voice actors to read. My students love that I am such a laid-back and humorous person, I always engage them as normal people instead of talking down to them as some teachers are wont to do. Students repeatedly have told me that I was their favorite teacher because communication with me comes so easy & they never feel like they can't ask me about anything. When they have a problem with the subject matter they can come to me without hesitation.

I like to focus on the things that interest the student in the subject, then use that to roll over into the less interesting aspects and show students how they correspond to one another. Short activities and videos that help bolster the material are imperative for today's student, they need to be continuously engaged with little to no downtime. I am best with Elementary to Middle School aged students and can tutor Math, Language Arts, and Social Studies for these grade levels. Science can be tutored as well, depending on the grade level and specific topic in need. I always try and engage the student with things that they enjoy and will make sure to tie this into the lesson in some way, using technology that the students recognize and use on a regular basis helps engage the student much easier.
