About Olivia
Olivia Smith is a printmaker and textile artist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Through the repetitive, bodily processes of printmaking and fiber arts, she draws connections between arduous domestic work and the joyous labor of art-making. Her work investigates gender roles, invisible labor, and productivity as a measure of self-worth. Smith received an MFA in Printmaking at Tyler School of Art and Architecture and a BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago. Her background as a textile designer informs her work through an emphasis on pattern, repetition, and references to the body.
