About Yash

Hi, I'm Yash!
By day (and honestly most nights too), I'm a scientist — I've spent over 10 years elbow-deep in labs, running experiments, chasing down tricky results, and occasionally arguing with a stubborn PCR machine that just won't cooperate.
I'm also an experienced teacher with 7+ years experience.
I did my Master of Biotechnology at the University of Queensland (graduated with Distinction, top percentile — yes, I was that student), and I still get genuinely excited talking about how cells work or why chemical reactions do what they do.
Somewhere along the way I realized the best part of science isn't just doing it — it's explaining it in a way that makes someone go "oh, THAT'S how it works!" That's where tutoring comes in. I love turning "I don't get it" into "wait, that's actually kind of cool," whether we're talking cell biology, chemical equations, forces and motion, or just how to structure a killer exam answer.
Outside of lessons, you'll find me still nerding out over science news, tea in hand, probably explaining something to someone whether they asked or not.
I teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math for primary and high school students, online or in person in Richlands, Brisbane. If you want lessons that are clear, patient, and occasionally involve a bad science pun — I've got you covered.

About the lesson

My approach
I make science and math make sense by connecting them to the real world. With 10+ years working in biology labs, I use real examples to explain ideas like genetics or chemical reactions, so they click instead of feeling like memorizing. I check what a student already knows, build from there at their own pace, and make sure they understand before moving on. I also help build good study and exam habits, not just cover one lesson at a time.
Lesson length
Usually 1 hour, adjustable for younger students or those needing extra support.
Qualifications & experience
Master of Biotechnology, University of Queensland (Distinction) — top percentile graduate. Over 10 years in biomedical science and molecular biology research.
