About Jack
I've been tutoring straight since January 2019, having completed over 1000hours with hundreds of 5* reviews (an average of 4.98 on MyTutor.co.uk). In 2022 I won MyTutor's "Tutor of the year" award. I've predominantly taught A-level subjects, and also worked with University students and professionals looking to build their programming knowledge.
Outside of tutoring, I currently work as a Software Engineer building medical technology for a diagnostics laboratory. Currently, I'm working on a number of AI tools to automatically process laboratory results and digest complex information for patients. I'm also working on a few educational services, such as a question resource generator and paper marking chatbot to help students with resources for subjects that don't have many available.
I'm also a bit of a sports geek - absolutely love cycling and rowing, both of which I do regularly in London.

My teaching methodology revolves highly around practical first, I tend to keep my lessons fairly unstructured, by nature of trusting my students to utilise the sessions how they feel is best. Giving space for clients to bring problems and topics they wish to cover at short notice allows a lot of flexibility. That being said, my go to is to try and split my time roughly 20-25 minutes for lecturing / me doing the talking and 35-40 minutes working through practical problems / coaching. My lessons typically last around 55 minutes
