About Connor

English is my native language and it is a weird one! I do love teaching it to others though! While my background is in Political Science, on the side I am a tutor and carry a Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate. I have experience teaching people from around the world and enjoy knowing my students a little so I can tailor lessons to what topics people enjoy. It makes learning much more fun!

I remember going through school learning lessons and being unmotivated to learn because of how dull the lesson plan was. Not just me all of the students. Most topics, maybe not all, can be taught in a way that is engaging and fun. Once I realized how much I enjoyed learning and teaching English, it has been my goal to determine if this is true. So far I find it is!

About the lesson

I prepare lesson plans for students based on their shared needs and the needs I determine from previous lessons. To maximize engagement I attempt to use topics you care about in our lessons. Each lesson will consist of presenting material, assisting students with practicing material, producing the material learned, and testing and reviewing students to ensure they grasp the content.

Learning and practicing a language can be challenging and let's not lie, sometimes dull. We will make sure to have at least a little fun in our lessons! With my approach to teaching, students will feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. My goal is to get you to feel excited to succeed in learning the target language. I will always lead with empathy and understanding to guide you to your end goal. Whatever your language level or goal I can assist.

Connor has a knack for the language and his personalized lesson plans helped me a lot to improve my communication skills as well as knowledge about the language.
