About Theo
Hello, I have lots of experience as both a math and physics university student. I recently completed my Master's at Wilfrid Laurier University, and my Bachelor's was at UBCO. Ideally, I would one day like to work as a college professor or a data scientist. I've really enjoyed the time I spent working as a teacher's assistant during my studies. I always tried my best to answer questions students had and assist in any way I could. I just find something very satisfying about helping someone understand math/physics better. I'm also not too shabby in programming with Python/R if that's of interest to anyone. I grew up in Nelson, and my family owns a restaurant in town where I have worked as a cook. I enjoy playing games, music and tennis in my free time.

From things I've read and my own experience as a student, I believe that the best way to learn math/science is by attempting to solve problems and actively recalling important information from memory. Ideally, I would help a student with a problem they are struggling with by showing them an example and then having them attempt it with guidance. Also, I would help by going over concepts when needed. I try to explain concepts as simply as possible, using diagrams wherever appropriate. And I would try to pass on some general problem-solving techniques that could serve them in the long run as a math/science student.
But I would be happy to customize the lesson to fit specific needs or learning styles if possible.
I'd be happy to assist with any subject/level I am comfortable with. I've taken many math/physics classes while I was a university student, including: calculus, number theory, probability theory, abstract algebra, quantum mechanics, thermodynamics and others. My physics may be a bit rusty though, ha. It's been a while since my undergrad. Also, I'd be happy to share the study methods I used as a student, and give tips for practicing for tests/exams.
