About Sumit
Hi, I am Sumit! I am a passionate educator with a deep-rooted love for Mathematics and Science. I graduated with 1st Class Honors in Mechanical Engineering from IIEST Shibpur (CGPA 8.45/10) and later completed my MBA at IIM Calcutta.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have always thrived on solving complex analytical problems. Professionally, I work as a Strategy Consultant, leveraging numbers and data every single day to drive business growth. However, my core technical passions lie in the hard sciences. I actively engage with advanced technical engineering concepts, from diving into control systems to calculating the intricacies of 3-phase AC electrical systems. This hands-on fascination with how the physical and mathematical world operates is exactly the energy I bring to my teaching.
Beyond academics, I believe in a well-rounded approach to life and learning. During my engineering days, I was recognized as one of the top 10 all-rounders, serving as the University Badminton Captain and coordinating major cultural events. This background taught me the importance of communication, patience, and adaptability: skills I use to connect with my students and make learning an enjoyable, stress-free experience.

My classes are designed to move students away from rote memorization and toward a deep, fundamental understanding of Mathematics and Science. With a 1st Class Honors degree in Mechanical Engineering (CGPA 8.45/10) and an MBA from IIM Calcutta, I know exactly what it takes to tackle complex problems, build analytical thinking, and excel in highly competitive academic environments.
What to Expect in My Classes:
1. Real-World Application: I bridge the gap between textbook theory and practical reality. Whether we are breaking down the kinematics of mechanical systems or analyzing the electrical principles behind 3-phase AC systems, I use tangible, real-world examples to make abstract concepts intuitive and engaging.
2. Structured Problem-Solving: We break down intimidating problems into logical, manageable steps. I focus on teaching the "why" behind the formulas so students can confidently approach any exam question, regardless of how it is framed.
